Through ILL, you can order loans of specific documents or copies of journal articles that are not in the LIC FAST collection. Whole issues or volumes of journals, standards, and undergraduate qualifying papers cannot be borrowed.
ILL is arranged by the LIC from another library in the Czech Republic or abroad upon request of the user. The LIC also provides ILL from its collections to other libraries on the basis of their request (according to Section 14 of the Library Act and Sections 2 and 3 of Decree No. 88/2002 Coll. of the Ministry of Culture).
ILL is provided by LIC to employees, PhD students and, in the preparation of bachelor and diploma theses, also to students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
As a rule, the processing time is 2 – 5 days for copies of articles, 7 – 14 days for other documents, in case of a request for a monograph from abroad it may take a month or even longer.
If the request is successful, the applicant is invited by e-mail to pick up the document at the LIC. The nature of the borrowing and the borrowing period are determined by the lending library. For this service, the library may charge the user a fee equal to the cost incurred. In the event that it is not possible to secure the document, the applicant is informed of this situation.
